Kennedy Reaffirms U.S. Friendship to Israel in Message to Ben-gurion

America’s President-elect, John F. Kennedy, today cabled to Israel Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion a message reaffirming the traditional friendship between the United States and Israel, Senator Kennedy’s wire was in response to a message from Ben-Gurion, congratulating Mr. Kennedy upon his election to the Presidency.

In the Kennedy message to the Premier, made public here today, the President-elect told Mr. Ben-Gurion: “As you suggest, there is an especially important area for common action (between the United States and Israel) in the development of effective programs of assistance to less-developed and hungry nations of the world. This great effort will be fortified by the talent and the human spirit of Israel.”
