Klaus Schuetz, the former Mayor of West Berlin, arrived in Israel Monday to take up his duties as the new West German Ambassador here. A long-time supporter of Israel, he was nicknamed “Israel’s Ambassador to Germany” by the Germans. Schuetz said he considers his new post an important one for himself and for West Germany.
