Knesset Group Votes to Lift Dayan’s Immunity in Automobile Case

The House Committee of the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, decided today to recommend to the Knesset plenum the lifting of the Parliamentary immunity of Moshe Dayan, Minister of Agriculture, to permit his trial on charges of careless driving,

Dayan, former Chief of Staff, had indicated previously he was willing to waive immunity. He was involved in a traffic accident more than a year ago when his jeep hit another car at a highway intersection.
