Knesset Passes Law to Prevent Child Marriages; Minimum Marital Age for Girls is 17

The Israel parliament today adopted by an over-whelming majority a bill designed to prevent child marriages in the Jewish state. The nex law fixes the minimum marriage age for girls at 17.
