Representatives of the Histadrut, Israel’s general federation of labor, and of the National Association of Manufacturers reached an agreement today for continuation of the payment of cost of living allowances tied to the price index.

The agreement continues these payments for another year, with changes being computed every three months as previously but with maximum payments increased. The manufacturers had first attempted to do away with the payments system altogether and then sought to recompute the payments every six months, but finally agreed to the Histadrut’s demands.
