The British policy in relation to Palestine exemplifies the British Labor Party’s policy of attempting to find international solutions for world problems, a party handbook for speakers and other political workers issued here today says.
The handbook, written by Morgan Phillips, secretary of the party, says: “When we held the Mandate we constantly refused to use troops for enforcing a solution of the problem unacceptable either to the Arabs or the Jews. After two years of continuous effort to find an acceptable solution, we referred the problem to the United Nations. But the Assembly voted for a solution the Arabs opposed. We surrendered the Mandate rather than accept sole responsibility for enforcing this solution.”
