British authorities are constructing at Lydda, Palestine’s principal railway junction, the largest and most modern airport in the entire Near East.
Several thousand dunams of land have been acquired for the airport, the cost of which is estimated at $1,250,000, and work is already in progress in grading and preparing the terrain.
