A mysterious voice today interrupted the regular Government broadcast, announcing in Hebrew three times: “We proclaim war against the White Paper.”
The authorities arrested two Jewish Labor party speakers in Tiberias when they attacked the White Paper. A protest meeting of the Poale Zion, labor Zionist organization, was prohibited in Haifa. Students of the Hebrew Technical College in Haifa sent a delegation to the Jewish Agency demanding action. In the meantime, the student body staged a sit-down strike.
