A group of loading Latin American Zionists met at the Jewish Agency off ices here this week-end to discuss the question of capital investments in Israel. Speakers pointed out that the monies supplied by the various Zionist funds are insufficient for the Jewish state’s needs, and those capital investments, for which prospects in Israel’s expanding economy are good, are necessary.
Among the speakers at the parley were Benno Weiser, director of the Agency’s Latin American department; Dr. Robert Nathan, director of the Agency’s economic department; David Hacohen, member of the Israeli Knesseth and director of Solel Boneh, Israeli construction cooperative; Gottlieb Hammer, executive director of the American section of the Agency; and Meir Hartman, assistant to Dr. Israel Goldstein, treasurer of the Agency.
