Latvia is asking a U.S. judge not to sentence to death a man convicted of killing five minorities, including a Jewish woman, during a shooting spree in Pittsburgh in April 2000. Richard Scott Baumhammers, who holds both Latvian and U.S. citizenship, is slated to be sentenced on Thursday.
