Latvian Jewish leaders are protesting the planned construction of a gas station on the site of a former synagogue in Riga that was destroyed by the Nazis. Jewish leaders are expected to appeal to Latvia’s president to reverse the Riga City Council’s decision to allow the construction, according to the Russian-language media in Riga, Latvia’s capital.
