Lawyers for Holocaust victims plan to include Chase Manhattan Bank in a class- action lawsuit, Newsweek reported. The lawyers allege that Chase’s Paris branch froze accounts of Jewish customers even before receiving orders from the Nazis to do so. Chase said in November that its preliminary investigation of the allegations indicated that fewer than 100 accounts are at issue, adding that the bank would pay out the accounts with full interest if necessary.
