The cornerstone for the building to house the Yiddish Institute for the study of Yiddish Ianguage, literature and philology, was laid here today with impressive ceremonies, delegates to the conference of the Institute in session here attending.
Senator Schabad, in his address at the exercises, declared: “The building of the Institute will be a tower to Yiddish study and not a tower of Babel.”
Peretz Hirschbein, Dr. Weinreich and Dr. Tschikower, also delivered addresses.
