Leading Pro-israel Publisher in Germany Arrives in United States

Axel Springer, leading newspaper and magazine magnate of West Germany, who had contributed $900,000 for the construction and administration of an art and archeology library at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, arrived here today for a 10-day visit. Among his other appearances here will be one tomorrow at a reception in his honor at the Leo Baeck Institute. The institute named after the late chief rabbi of Germany under the Nazi regime, is engaged in historical research, the presentation and publication of the history and literature of German-speaking Jewry, and the collection of books and manuscripts in this field.
