Herbert H. Lehman was unanimously elected chairman the Board of Overseers of the Jewish Theological Seminary at the annual meeting of board last night. Mr. Lehman has been associated with the Seminary for several ##ars as a member of its board of directors, and will continue in that post even after assumes the duties of his new office.
The Board of Overseers, which is the Seminary’s national planning and campaign committee, recommended at the meeting that its members extend their activities on half of the seminary’s 1947-48 maintenance drive for $1,750,000 beyond their own communities and endeavor to interest neighboring communities in supporting the seminary’s program “for building a dynamic Judaism in America.”
