Liberal Jewish leaders in Israel announced their support for a controversial gay pride parade scheduled for Jerusalem in August. Representatives of the Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist movements referred to a coalition of Israel’s two chief rabbis and leaders of the country’s Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Muslim communities, which came together to denounce the parade, as an “unholy alliance.”
