Libya is trying to obtain nuclear weapons, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said. In interviews marking the Jewish New Year, Sharon warned against Libya’s accelerated efforts to obtain nonconventional weapons. Libyan officials called Sharon’s allegation “hysterical.”
