The order of the Roumanian government prohibiting the entry of Jewish Telegraphic Agency service in any language into Roumama was withdraw. Prince Michel R. Sturdza, Charge d’affaires of the Rounanian Legation at Washington, informed Jacob Landau, Managing Director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
“I am pleased to inform you that upon communicating with my government I received a reply informing me that the measure was taken by mistake and that steps have been immediately taken to rescind that order,” Prince Sturdza wrote.
The Charge d’Affaires also took occasion to deny the reports from Budapest that anti-Semitic disorders occurred at Ismail, Bessarabia. A formal denial of this report was telegraphed to the Roumanian Legation from Budapest, he declared.
