A resolution urging the government to restrict the purchase and the export of flax to Lithuanians only and to eliminate Jews from trading in the commodity, was adopted today at a conference of the nation’s agricultural leaders.
At the same time nine Lithuanian officials were sentenced today to varying terms of imprisonment for discriminating against Jews. The officials were charged with rejecting the lowest bid, which was submitted by Jews, for government construction work. They chose instead to give the construction contract to a non-Jewish firm whose figure was considerably higher.
