Much comment was caused in the Lithuanian press by the sudden disappearnce of Glovocki, leader of the Lithuanian monarchists and of a band which terrorized the Jewish population.

It was stated that Glovocki was about to carry out a plan by which half a million dollars was to have been extorted from the Kovno Jewish merchants.
