The Lodzer Tageblatt, oldest Yiddish daily in Poland outside of Warsaw, has suspended publication.

A few weeks ago Emanuel Hamburski, the editor of the Lodzer Tageblatt, died. Since then all efforts to continue publishing the paper have failed. Mr. Hamburski was a wealthy merchant, president of the Lodz Merchants’ Union, an active Zionist worker and founder of and collaborator in many cultural institutions.
