The Society of Authors, headed by Sir James Barrie, has addressed an official protest on the German ban on Jewish authors to the German Ambassador in London.
The ban of “many German authors whose work has added distinction to that literature” is decried, with the warning that the intellectual life of their country will suffer greatly unless it is secured against the malice of political and racial prejudice.”
