Lord Melchett, prominent British-Jewish leader and industrialist, arrived here last night on a tour of South America. He was accompanied by Lady Melchett.

Arriving from Brazil, the Melchetts were greeted by a delegation of Zionist leaders, to whom Lord Melchett expressed the view that there was no reason to be pessimistic over recent happenings in Palestine. He also voiced the belief that the Royal Commission’s recommendations will favor Jewish interests.

Lord Melchett will participate in the 15th annual convention of the Zionist Organization of Argentine which is scheduled for April 10-12. He will also help constitute an Argentine section of the Jewish Agency.
