A plea that Jewish youth be permitted to form special defense corps to protect Jews of Palestine against Arab attackers is voiced by Lord Melchett, noted industrialist and Jewish leader, in a letter published today in the Daily Telegraph.
The Telegraph’s Jerusalem correspondent, reviewing the situation of the Palestine colonies, declares their pleas for arms are justified. He contends that colonists can no longer be exposed to the violence of Arab bands without means of self defense.
