Maccabean Winter Sports Festival Opens in Festive Atmosphere in Zakopans

Among those who have arrived in Zakopane are two hundred and fifty Jewish athletes from Austria, Czechos# vakia, Yugoslavia, Germany and I One hundred and fifty athletes Poland are also here for the event well as many guests from abroad and representatives of the press.

A reception was held last night which was attended by representatives of the Foreign Office and the State Department for Physical Culture.

Last spring, a Maccabean Festival was held in Palestine. The winter Festival was transferred to Zakopane because of the snow and ice facilities for winter sports.
