Malcolm Hoenlein urged Japan’s prime minister to take a proactive role against Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “Because Japan has been a moral force against proliferation, this is a critical case and they have an obligation to be proactive,” Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, said he told Junichiro Koizumi during a rare meeting in Japan last week.
