Jews in the White-chapel district of London were thrown into a panic today when a man, as yet unidentified, suddenly appeared in a crowd of men, women and children leaving a synagogue and began to fire a revolver into the air.
Police arriving on the scene immediately after the disturbance began succeeded in disarming the man and took him into custody. They were unable to ascertain the cause of his action. He will be tried tomorrow.
