Theodore Mann, chairman, Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, accompanied Vice President Walter Mondale’s party that attended the installation in the Vatican of Pope John Paul I. The delegation represented President Carter and the people of the United States. Mann was to be on hand in New York to greet Israeli Premier Menachem Begin when the Israeli leader arrived in New York yesterday from Israel en route to the Camp David summit conference. However, his appointment to the Mondale delegation necessitated a change in Mann’s planns.
