Many persons were injured in Jerusalem and the surrounding district as a result of the earthquake here, during which houses were destroyed.

Reports received from the country indicate that eight persons were killed in Arab villages and three Hindoo tourists, women, were killed in Jericho.

Preliminary reports received here also state that the harbor city, Haifa, and its district as well as Jaffa and its district suffered no damage.

Casualties of earthquake are small, according to Dr. Bluestone, head of Hadassah office in Palestine. Considerable damage was suffered by Rothschild Hospital in Jerusalem. One nurse was injured.
