Marshal Jan B. Gamarnik, Vice-Commissar of Defense, whose suicide was announced yesterday, was a brother-in-law of the late Chaim Nachman Bialik, the Hebrew poet. Marshal Gamarnik, 45-year-old Soviet military leader and a loading party official, was involved with anti-Soviet elements in a plot against the Government, an announcement by the Communist Party Central Committee said. No details of the alleged plot were given.
