Martial law loomed for the Holy Land today as the British War Office cancelled military maneuvers at Sussex in order to be in a position to rush more troops into the strife-torn area at short notice.
It was learned that the decision to send additional reinforcements into Palestine to quell the 20-week-old disorders was the direct result of yesterday’s discussion of the Palestine situation by the British Cabinet.
Well-informed circles believe that martial law is now inevitable.
