Mass arrests of Syrian Jews was reported today by the Arab daily “Al Yom,” which is published in Israel. The newspaper said that even Syrian Jews who fled to Lebanon have been kidnapped by Syrian secret police and forcibly returned to custody in Syria.

An Israeli spokesman today revealed that Israeli forces foiled attempt last Saturday by Arab infiltrates to enter Israel by sea. The spokesman said that an Israeli patrol on the southern seacoast spotted two boats approaching the shore. They warned the Arabs and fired on them when they ignored instructions to halt. One boat load was captured, but the second escaped, the spokesman said.
