Pierre Massin, French manufacturer, following his release from Ellis Island yesterday as a quota immigrant, today denied reports that he was anti-Semitic and that he had contributed funds to Jacques Doriot’s Fascist movement in France.
Massin said he did not believe in persecution of Jews and that he had many Jewish friends in the United States as well as France. He said he had been a member of a group of French luxury goods manufacturers and retailers, including French Jews, who had protested before the war against the “thousands” of Jewish refugees from Germany and Czechoslovakia who had come to France and had begun underselling French products.
