Mount Sinai Hospital this week announced receipt of the largest gift in the history of the institution–a contribution of $1,250,000 from Max Freedman, who retired as president of the hospital after holding that post for the past five years.
The hospital will use $750,000 of the gift for the construction of a new outpatient building and $500,000 will be placed in an endowment fund to support medical education and research and special patient care services. The hospital, which serves about 45,000 outpatients annually, will provide through the new building facilities, care for the indigent.
