Jewish members of the Jerusalem Municipal Council today delivered an ultimatum to Mayor Hussein Khalidi, demanding that he either resign from the Arab National Strike Committee, which is directing the general strike against Jews, or from the mayoralty. If the mayor refuses, the Jewish councillors declare they will resign from the city’s governing body. Dr. Khalidi promised he would reply by tomorrow.

The strike committee today sent delegations to Syria and Egypt in an effort to block shipments of food to Tel Aviv.
