Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Government officials and Dr. Oscar Alende, provincial governor, were among the guests present at a reception at the Israel Embassy marking the 13th anniversary of the State. Dr. Alende, who recently toured Israel, lauded the Jewish State at a banquet given in his honor by the General Zionists. Two local dailies, Correo de La Tarde and El Mundo, published special editions in observance of Israel Independence Day, while other papers devoted leading articles to the subject.
