A bill to deprive Jewish artisans of work, adopted by the German majority in the Sejm (Parliament) of the Memel district, has been vetoed by the Governor, a Lithuanian official, it was announced today.

A united front of Lithuanians and Jews in the former German territory, turned over to Lithuania in 1923, was urged by M. Kibrancas and Kauskas, important Lithuanian leaders, who declared that the Nazi controlled administration and Sejm were treating Jews unfairly.

In a statement, the two leaders condemned anti-Semitic speeches at a conference of the Verslinki, economic anti-Jewish organization, in Memel.
