Memorial services were held in Israel to mark the anniversary of the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. After some ceremonies the previous night, the state memorial ceremony was held Monday at Rabin’s gravesite at Mount Herzl Cemetery in Jerusalem. “The bright horizon that Yitzhak was trying to reach remains vague and distant,” Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said of Rabin’s peacemaking efforts.
