The proposed agreement for the consolidation of Allied Jewish Appeal and the Federation of Jewish Charities here has been approved by a Joint Committee on Consolidation. The committee also approved a draft of by-laws for the consolidated organization.
Approval of the plan, by a unanimous vote of all members present, was announced by Myer Feinstein and Bernard L. Frankel, presidents of AJA and Federation, respectively. The consolidation proposal has been submitted to the boards of the two agencies, which are expected to act on it later this month. it is also expected that the boards will have before them a full slate of proposed officers for the consolidated agency when they meet.
