The largest Jewish celebration ever held here marked the opening Sunday of the first Jewish public building in Mexico City, the new building for the Jewish School endowed by three local Jews.
More than 2,000 persons attended the dedication. There was a musical program and performances by Jewish school children and M. Berger, director, outlined the history of the school for the last eleven years. Joseph Tchnornitzky, a teacher, made the opening address and H. B. Tafelov presided.
The school, which has been recognized by the Government, was the gift of Meyer Katz, H. S. Barru and Sam Rosen.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
