British military experts here said recent events in the Middle East have shown that the United states has taken the correct position in the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) which will be resumed in Helsinki, Finland on Nov. 2. The U.S. had refused to sign an agreement for arms limitation that does not provide for inspection to guard against violations of the agreement. The British experts stated that Egypt could not have moved her missile bases closer to the Suez Canal without Russian aid. The Russians have denied that the bases were moved while Israel has produced “conclusive” evidence that the bases were moved. This incident showed the Russians are utterly unreliable, the experts said.
