Miss Sara X. Schottenfels for twenty-five years volunteer secretary of the New York section of the National Council of Jewish Women, was honored at a tea given yesterday at the home of Mrs. William De Young Kay, president of the local chapter, in recognition of her services on the eve of her resignation, effective January 1.
A diamond wrist watch, properly inscribed, was presented to Miss Schottenfels by Mrs. Nathan Straus Jr., vice-president of the New York Section.
Guests included Mrs. Irving Lehman, Mrs. Henry Morgenthau, Mrs. Frederick Nathan, Mrs. Cyrus L. Sulzberger all honorary vice-presidents, and Mrs. Ira Leo Bamberger, Mrs. Henry J. Bernheim, Mrs. Sidney B. Erlanger, Mrs. George Hecht, Mrs. Henry S. Hendricks, Mrs. Paul Mazur, Leo Sulzberger, Mrs. Julius Wolff and Miss Ethel S. Wise, members of the board of directors.
Miss Schottenfels was active in organizing the Council House in The Bronx, Service for Foreign Born at 1776 Broadway and Council activities at Welfare Island.
