‘mobilizer’ Leader to Run for State Assembly

James A. Downey, self-styled “silver-tongued young orator” of the Christian Mobilizers will be a candidate for the State Assembly from the Sixteenth Assembly District, Manhattan, Mobilizer leader Joseph E. McWilliams announced last night. Downey will run on the American Destiny Party ticket against Democratic incumbent Robert F. Wagner, Jr. The district is in a predominantly Irish Catholic and German section of Yorkville.
