Sidney H. Reiss, radio director of the Young People’s League of the United Synagogue of America, in an address over station WBNX last night, said that modern society contains many things which appear as reality “but which are often synonymous with insanity.”
“Progress and poverty walk hand in hand,” he declared. “What would the proverbial visitor from Mars think of a world that gives birth to a Hitler, a world where warehouses burst with food, where crops and livestock are destroyed while millions go in want of the very necessities of life.”
