The 1961 Combined Jewish Appeal of Montreal yielded record contributions totaling $3, 565, 546, an eight percent increase over the sums raised in 1960, Monroe Abbey, chairman of the Appeal, reported to the board of directors here.
At the same time it was announced today that Jacob M. Lowy was elected chairman of the 1962 joint campaign for the Combined Jewish Appeal, the United Israel Appeal and the Rescue and Survival Fund. The 1962 drive is to get under way next November.
