Montreal Teachers in Sympathy Strike

February 3, 1933
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

Teachers in the local Folk Shulen, the Peretz Shulen, the Kerem Israel and the Shaar Hashomayim today declared a one day sympathy strike as an expression of solidarity with the teachers of the United Talmud Torahs who have been on strike for the last four weeks, as a protest against arrears in salaries.

Efforts of local communal workers and various organizations to evolve some means to enable the schools to reopen have thus far proved unsuccessful.

Five months salaries are due to the striking teachers.
