A monument to the memory of George Mandel, former Jewish Cabinet Minister who died as a captive of the Nazis, was desecrated here today.

The memorial, which is on the outskirts of Paris, was daubed in red and the letters, CAS, the initials of the right-wing French underground group fighting Algerian independence, were painted below the daubing.
