More than 4,000,000 pounds of canned foods and other relief supplies have been contributed to the SOS Collection of the J.D.C. during the first eight months of 1947, it was announced today. Of this amount, more than 3,800,000 pounds have already been shipped to needy Jews in 14 European countries. Shipments during the month of August totalled 940,000 pounds, highest in the history of SOS.
