Twenty-three percent are against recognition and 19 percent are undecided, the survey established. The Gallup Poll showed that the name of the new state is not yet fully known to the bulk of Canadians. When the Canadian Institute of Public opinion polled a cross-section of the voting population, asking people for the name of “the new Jewish state in Palestine” only little more than a third were able to answer correctly.
