More Than One-third of Canada’s Population Wants Immediate Recognition of Israel

according to the Gallup Poll of Canada 36 percent of all Canadians favor the Dominion’s immediate recognition of Israel, whereas 22 percent are of the opinion that recognition should be given later. Twenty-three percent are against recognition and 19 percent are undecided, the survey established. The Gallup Poll showed that the name of the new state is not yet fully known to the bulk of Canadians. When the Canadian Institute of Public opinion polled a cross-section of the voting population, asking people for the name of “the new Jewish state in Palestine” only little more than a third were able to answer correctly.
