Representatives of American voluntary relief agencies here called on the American consulate yesterday to discuss the recent regulation under which only Austrian Jews residing in the American occupation zone are eligible to apply for U.S. immigration visas.
The consul was told that most Austrian Jews now live in Vienna, but only 1,800 of the 5,000 total reside in the U. S. section of the city. He replied that his instructions came from the State Department and that any changes would have to originate in Washington.
